About North Oak Design
A studio built on the belief that less, done precisely, endures.
A New York-based interior design studio working across residential, commercial, and hospitality. Founded in 2000, we have completed over 140 projects across the United States.
Founded on restraint. Built on trust.
North Oak Design was founded in 2000 by two designers who shared one conviction: that the best spaces are the ones where the design has disappeared entirely, leaving only the feeling of being somewhere precisely right. We have never pursued a signature style. We pursue a standard — of listening, of material honesty, of execution without shortcuts. Every project begins with that standard and ends when it has been met.
What we believe
Three principles. Every project.
Listen before designing
We ask more questions than most clients expect. The answers shape everything that follows.
Materials above trends
We choose materials for how they age, not how they photograph. Things that improve with time.
Our team
The team behind the work.
